Power Pudding

Power Pudding

This is our modified version of a recipe that was given to me a couple years ago by a nurse that was at our house to do a skin assessment on Krissy. You just never know where good ideas are going to come from!

Immediately Krissy went from a “once a week if left to herself” girl, to being pretty much a “once a day” girl. In fact I renamed it “Poop Pudding!” It is not the only thing she gets but it is the thing that has made the most difference! Enjoy!

Power Pudding Recipe:

  • ¾ cup Apple sauce
  • ¾ cup Prune juice
  • ½ cup (or so) Wheat bran (ground very fine!)
We use a small Cuisinart blender. Be sure to grind the wheat bran well so that it does not clog your child’s g-tube and mix well. Store in the refrigerator. Will last about 3 days.

We give Krissy 120 ml pudding plus about 120 ml water flush once a day.

Note: This may not be suitable for your child. Not everyone’s system can tolerate the wheatbran. This is not medical advise, only our experience. Be sure to check with your child’s doctor or nutritionist to see if this might be of benefit to your child.
